MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Damp & Mould Project Surveyor to join a Housing Association in Berkshire. My client is looking for someone who has experience within a similar role.

This role will be a interim position for 6-12 months and my client are offering a day rate of £300-350p/d Umbrella.

This role will offer flexible working with up to 2-3 days working from home.

**The Role**:
Be responsible for the delivery and professional building surveying services in relation to damp & mould cases, and associated major works programmes.

This includes the inspection of reported and identified cases of damp & mould, reporting on the correct course of action, and ensuring that any remedial works are carried out to a high standard.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across my clients Homes, to ensure that customers are able to report cases of damp & mould, and that they receive the correct advice and that the appropriate action is taken.

Undertake a variety of surveys to report, analyse and make recommendations to rectify a range of building defect issues, arising from poor thermal performance, or other contributory factors causing excessive condensation, mould and damp.

Complete these tasks in compliance with health and safety regulatory legislation, my clients policy and management plan in relation to damp & mould. Act as the organisation's competent person in respect of this workstream.

**Main Duties**:

- Undertake surveys of my clients stock, prepare schedules of condition, schedules of work, tender documentation, defect analysis reports as required and ensure that specifications are kept up to date.
- Oversee the right response to damp & mould cases, based on severity and ongoing support to the customer. This will include the initial response for removing damp & mould, diagnosing the cause or organising the correct contractor to assess this, and make short and long term recommendations
- Support the collection of data to build up the profile of damp & mould cases in distinct building archetypes, and extend inspections from individual properties to blocks / streets / estates to build up this intelligence.
- Prepare pre-tender estimates and feasibilities for a works programmes relating to the eradication of damp & mould
- Assist in the design, procurement and management of contracts and contractors in delivering works within the damp & mould workstreams, including specialist cleaning contractors, diagnostic services, and remedial works, including but not restricted to ventilation, insulation, heating, leak detection, windows and roofing.
- Responsible for reviewing data provided from external contractors via technical sensor equipment and taking appropriate action.
- We are medium sized business that needs colleagues at all levels of the business to work collaboratively, your working relationship and understanding of how issues play out in different departments is essential to be successful in this role and at all times be prepared to communicate what and how you are managing your day to day workload.
- Have a working knowledge of the management of disrepair claims and formal complaints, and be able to provide reports to support my clients response.
- Undertake customer consultation and stakeholder communication as required, ensuring that excellent customer satisfaction is provided at all times and can be evidenced through feedback and key performance indicators.
- Use your excellent IT skills, to ensure that all data records on stock condition are kept up to date and you fully utilise the IT programme used by the asset management team to undertake your role.
- Ensure that monitoring and performance of contractors is correctly recorded and feedback through agreed procedures and processes.
- Positively support activities that help promote our new culture and behaviours.
