We are looking for a Tax Advisor to join the Tax Team based at Rio Tinto’s Head Office in London to provide maternity leave cover.

Reporting to the Principal Tax Advisor and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Tax Team, you will be:

- Manage UK corporate tax returns, with a preference for experience using Alphatax.
- Assist with tax accounting, addressing statutory tax reporting issues for the UK tax team
- Prepare the UK Corporate Interest Restriction return
- Handle other UK compliance submissions, including the Group Allowance Allocation Statement and management of UK group relief
- Support the management of relationships with UK internal and external stakeholders, including day-to-day interactions with HMRC, including tax audits
- Assist the UK tax team with tax issues such as dividend management, intra-group funding management, and other ad hoc tax matters as needed
- Join a team of ten UK-based tax professionals

**What you’ll bring**
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Graduate with professional tax qualifications
- High level of technical knowledge across the main UK taxes
- Tax accounting knowledge and experience of statutory audits of UK corporations is preferred
- Alphatax experience is preferred
- Ability to support the management of tax issues in a complex multinational environment

**Where you’ll be working**

Rio Tinto’s global headquarters is situated in St. James’s Square, in the City of Westminster, London, on the edge of the West End, and is the site of the group’s original head office. Located over several floors, the office is truly a global hub for the business and is the base for many members of the Executive Committee. As such, the grade II listed office reflects the vibrancy of the location, although it also overlooks the tranquillity of the only garden square in the district and is a short walk from Green Park and Piccadilly underground stations.
