I am recruiting a Lead Java Engineer on behalf of a company who were founded over 60 years ago and have grown to over 30,000 employees in that time - they are one of the most successful financial services businesses in Britain.
However, despite being founded so long ago, they continue to innovate and demonstrate a progressive attitude in everything they do.
This Lead Java Engineer role will sit in the team that is responsible for creating and maintaining a large scale key-value store used by over 50 systems in the bank - so it's a high profile position
You will be designing and developing reusable libraries and APIs for use across the bank, as well as software that is amenable for a greater automation of build, release testing and deployment process on all environments.

They're looking for a true expert, so a Lead/VP Java Engineer who's around the 10 years mark or more, with deep knowledge of JVM and distributed systems. You'll have used Kafka or MongoDB at enterprise/expert level. Experience with cloud platforms would bea nice to have (they use AWS and GCP)
For this Lead Java Engineer position they will pay upto £125,000 + 10% pension (non contributory) + 10% bonus and other discretionary bonuses, plus 30 days holiday (+ bank holidays of course) + 12 months paternity leave
They are HQ'd in London - 2 days a month is how often you'll be required to go in.
