Providing professional knowledge, experience and advice to Fleet Groups as required, and implementing and maintaining the accreditation of vessels to the requirements of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention.

Main Responsibilities

Conducting HSEQ inductions for new Senior Officers and HSEQ briefings with visiting Senior Officers.

Assist in the implementation of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and other shipboard audits to achieve and maintain accreditation in accordance with legislative requirements.

Providing an audit function in accordance with the requirements of the Company’s Management System.

Assisting with accident and/or incident investigations, recording the details and preparing any associated report(s).

Preparing accident/incident statistics as required by Line Manager and Senior Management.

Co-ordinate the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual HSEQ Reports.

Behaviour Based Safety observations analysis and feedback reporting.

Responding to Safety Committee Meetings as required by the Fleet Groups.

Identifying documentation amendments/revisions to meet identified needs in the development of the Company’s Management System.

Conducting HSEQ inductions for new Senior Officers and HSEQ briefings with visiting Senior Officers.

Any other duties as required by the Company’s Senior Management.

**Emergency Role**: Member of the Casualty Response Team.

Occasional travel as required.

You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are relevant to your position.

Essential

HND or equivilent experience in related discipline

Experience at sea, sailing as a Deck Officer or Marine Engineer

Extensive sailing experience

Knowledge of ISM and ISO standards and codes

Knowledge of Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis

Good organisational, analytical and communication skills

Ability to work in a team as well as individually
