**What its like to work here
Day-to-day you’ll be part of the Pen Llŷn National Trust Ranger team, delivering practical conservation and maintenance work across the estate, from fencing and repairing cloddiau to tree planting and managing invasive species. Even though the base is in Cwrt (Uwchmynydd) the work is spread across National Trust sites across Pen Llŷn, Ynys Môn and Glan Faenol. Your work will also include assisting the harbour master at Porthdinllaen with maritime projects. You'll work closely with farm tenants, volunteers and the local community, the majority of whom are Welsh-speaking, so the ability to communicate effectively in Welsh is essential for this role.

There can be no doubt that the area you'll work in is stunning, but conditions on the coast can be changeable. You’ll spend considerable time outdoors all year 'round, so you must be prepared for all types of weather, have good experience working outdoors, and be resilient and willing to adapt your plans to work with the weather of the day.

**What you will be doing**

Following the lead from the Estate management plan you'll build, prioritise and manage an effective and flexible work programme for you and your team, taking responsibility for planning small and medium projects using an allocated budget. You'll support your fellow rangers and colleagues mainly across Ynys Môn and Pen Llŷn in undertaking engagement and conservation work, but at times support fellow rangers on other sites across North Wales.

You'll play the key role in maintaining excellent standards of presentation and property maintenance, successfully achieving conservation objectives and building strong professional relationships with external partners, colleagues, contractors, tenants and neighbouring land managers.

You’ll also be responsible for helping to communicate our conservation work to a wide range of audiences, both new and existing, through events, guided walks, media coverage and engagement with local communities. You'll appreciate the need for our countryside sites to bring in income, so your business ideas will play an important part in the team’s success.
