AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Sponsor to maintain effective long-term relationships with customers for a specific capability area, deriving technical requirements and providing technical crisis management advice to external UK government customers.

Location - Reading area (on-site role). This role does require travel to London on a routine basis, as well as the potential for occasional travel within the UK and overseas for short durations.

Package - c£42,000 - £48,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

- An undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent RQF level 6 qualification or experience (qualifications equivalent to Membership of a professional body or equivalent experience, would be preferred)
- A proven track record of driving delivery, performance and continuous improvement
- A working appreciation of financial and business requirements
- Strategic and tactical planning skills
- Excellent communication & presentation skills
- Previous experience of stakeholder engagement

We would love to hear from someone with knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following technical areas:

- Nuclear security and counter terrorism
- Managing technical partnerships
- Technical Crisis Management
- Cross government working
- Emergency planning

Previous command level experience

We are particularly interested in hearing from those who may have a background in policing, fire service, military, oil industry or a similar industry.

Experience of working in emergency situations or preparing emergency plans is highly desirable.
