Principal Finance Business Partner

**About The Role**
This is an exciting opportunity to support a business that is going through a period of rapid change. We are looking to make further improvements to our finance functions as we go through a period of growth. This role will partner the generation business during a period of expansion in generation assets, working across the Financial Control team through a series of ad hoc, projects to deliver improvements and support requests for information from business stakeholders.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Business partnering generation development during an exciting phase of growth in this area of the business
- Help develop and improve the financial reporting and insight process and commentary including risk and opportunity framework
- Develop an improved forecasting process and timetable, getting board level sign-off of the process
- Provide financial decision support to the business as required focusing on cash flow, profitability, and risks and opportunities
- Take on work and support the finance team as required, prioritising tasks around deadlines
**General Responsibilities**
- Ensure all reporting is on time, robust, compliant, and consistent and that it supports both current activities and future growth requirements
- Lead the development of the FP&A processes to drive best practice and embed professionalism
- Actively develop content and format of reporting, identify areas of improvement, and follow through to implementation of system-based output
- Proactively identify areas of improvement and work with others to implement and see these through to completion - in both the FP&A and wider financial control environments
**About You**
**Essential Skills & Expertise**
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc.) with significant post qualified experience
- Exceptional forecasting and analytical skills with the ability to provide constructive challenge
- Experience of managing complicated information sets to an informative output
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - interacting between Finance and other key stakeholders and teams throughout the business
- Strong working ethic and be dynamic and enthusiastic to drive the Group’s '
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office suite, in particular advanced Excel modelling skills
**Desirable (but not essential) Skills & Expertise**
- Utilities sector
- VBA, Power Query/Power BI skills also an advantage
