**Switchboard Operator**
To operate the central communication service & associated systems. To ensure a 24-hour service is provided in a courteous & friendly manner on behalf of a branch of the NHS
**Main duties and responsibilities**:
- To operate the telephone switchboard consoles with an efficient, courteous & friendly manner whilst answering calls professionally within an agreed timescale.
- To monitor several alarm panels & systems, ensuring appropriate emergency teams are contacted as necessary & all logs and reports to be completed.
- To liaise with various departments & use the intranet to ensure that when producing the On-Call sheets the correct member of staff is contacted when required.
- Working with the security team to produce an audit detailing overnight visitors to the hospital
Desirable criteria
- Telephone /switchboard
- Administration skills
- Working at times in a pressured environment
**Contract**:?Permanent
**Hours**: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
