**Job description**

Brighter Beginnings is a family-run company. We have been operating in the childcare field for 30 years. From our first nursery which opened in 1991, we have grown to 9 high-quality nursery settings offering full daycare, education, and After School Clubs across North and South Manchester and Oldham.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Prepare and cook healthy 2-course dinners and teas for the children
- Preparing morning and afternoon snacks for the children
- Healthy food preparation
- Follow the environmental health food safety requirements
- To help create an atmosphere so that the meal and lunchtime recreation is a pleasant experience for both children and staff.
- To undertake any other duties as required, and as appropriate to the post.
- To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting. To uphold the profile of the nursery and its standards - Safer Food, Better Business.
- To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families, or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
- Clear DBS

**Skills and Experience**
- Basic hygiene understanding.
- Kitchen experience
- Preferred qualification in level 2 cooking
- Tidy and professional appearance.
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
- Hard-working and committed to the role and the organisation.
- High level of regard for confidentiality.
- Able to work as a team and independently.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: £9.50 per hour
