An opportunity has arisen for a Learning Technologist to join the Directorate of Nurse and Health Professional Education Work Based Learning team, to support in the delivery of all Wales work-based learning resources in a variety of learning areas. The post holder will provide resource development to the WBL team looking after the initiation and progression of the development of content for the learning management system.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience needed

The post-holder will be educated to degree level (or will possess suitable equivalent experience), with experience gained in developing resources for education/training and a sound knowledge of developing resources within projects.

Key duties for the Learning Technologist will include the following:
- Work with internal staff from within and external to the Directorate as well as with external suppliers in the design and delivery of learning resources
- Manage and communicate across Wales with NHS WBL stakeholders and other organisations autonomously, requiring highly developed communication skills.
- Identify dependencies and deliverables for projects.
- Analyse information for all the major stakeholders’ perspectives identifying and prioritising all known factors according to project scope and definition.
- Present a range of options when identifying solutions to WBL education and quality assurance requirements.
- Continually assess effectiveness of project plans and implementation.
- Support eLearning development of business cases.
- Help create learning processes and skill mapping within learning materials and resources developed.
- Assist in maintaining agreed quality levels within HEIW’s eLearning platform and content.
- Work with the eLearning Delivery and Content Manager and the Cyber Security and Information Governance teams to make sure the learning platform and its content meet security and data protection standards.
- Work on own initiative and organise own workload, working to tight and often competing deadlines.
- Deliver significant autonomy within the role, making judgements on multi-stranded issues for which no precedent may exist.
- Represent HEIW at internal and external meetings as required.
