Nearly a quarter of pupils in north-east England have missed at least one in 10 lessons in the last year.

Children were also more likely to be persistently absent in the Northeast (25.6%) and Yorkshire and The Humber (24.5%) compared to Outer London (23.1%) and Inner London (23.8%).

There were 3,100 permanent exclusions in Autumn term 2022/23, a rate of 0.04, equivalent to 4 permanent exclusions for every 10,000 pupils.

**Job Summary**:
We aim to assist students with their personal journey through education by offering emotional well-being and behaviour support strategies to improve their overall attendance, growth and engagement.

To understand triggers, mindset and help to change outlooks and reactions. To give a positive restorative approach and leave a lasting impact on student’s educational careers with continuation packages.

To increase engagement and attendance within school hours for lessons and the school timetable. To support young people in the classroom environment and find coping strategies for everyone.

To support students with their emotional needs and mental health in both education and their social lives

**Duties**:

- Communicate effectively with individuals with special education needs
- Provide education and guidance to children with challenging behaviour
- Implement behaviour intervention plans
- Work closely with schools and caregivers to support the individual's progress
- Complete daily logs, analyse behaviour, and adapt sessions based on information given

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with children, particularly those with challenging behaviour
- Knowledge of behavioural management techniques
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with individuals and teaching staff
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- DBS on the update service
- Certification or degree in a related field is preferred

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
