**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ABA Tutor to work with a young male adult with a diagnosis of ASD. The ABA Tutor will work directly with the learner in the family home and in the local community settings. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), the ABA Tutor will implement individualised support plans to support the learning and development of this 20 year old learner.
PLEASE NOTE- FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER AS SELF-EMPLOYED AND YOUR CONTRACT WILL BE BETWEEN YOU AND THE FAMILY. acornABA provides consultancy for this family and will provide on going training and support for your work, but does will not be your employer.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Act with compassion**: Interact with empathy and compassion in delivering support to the client and his family, promoting his independence and enhancing his daily living skills whilst respecting his opinion, ideas and decision making
- **Provide 1:1 instruction**: Deliver 1:1 instruction to learners with a diagnosis of ASD, focusing on skill acquisition, life skills development, and social interaction.
- **Data collection and analysis**: Collect data on the learner's progress and behaviour during sessions. Analyse data to track progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
- **Collaborate with multi**-**disciplinary team**: Collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and other members of the learner's support team to ensure consistency and alignment of goals across environments.
- **Support skill development**:Use evidence-based teaching strategies to teach functional skills, such as communication, socialisation, self-care, and academic skills, based on the learner's individualised goals.
- **Implement positive reinforcement techniques**: Utilise positive reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviours and reduce challenging behaviours.
- **Maintain professionalism**: Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and respect in all interactions with clients, families, and colleagues.
- **Documentation and reporting**: Maintain accurate records of session notes, progress reports, and communication with the BCBA and other team members.
- **Participate in training and professional development**: Stay current with best practices in ABA through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- **Create high quality resources**: Create and develop high quality stimuli as specified in the learner’s learning plan and as requested by colleagues.
- **Respond to feedback**: participate in regular supervision sessions both when working with clients and in a meeting format, responding to and adapting to feedback as required.
**Education Levels & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Maths and English GCSE (minimum C grade)
**Desirable**
- A Levels
- Degree level education or a recognised qualification in childcare, psychology or related discipline
- Studying towards or obtained Masters degree in applied behaviour analysis OR completion of modules eligible for board certification through the BACB
- Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), UKBA (Cert), Board Certified Behaviour Analyst certification (BCBA) OR Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst certification (BCaBA)
**Specific Knowledge, Experience & Attributes**:
**Essential**
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with children, young adults, families, and colleagues
- Own car and full driving licence with a willingness to travel to family homes or community settings as needed
- Current clear enhanced DBS check
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Able to demonstrate an understanding and personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Adaptable to change with good organisation, planning and prioritisation skills
**Desirable**
- Experience working under the supervision of a BCBA/UKBA(Cert)
- Experience working in schools alongside multidisciplinary teams such as teachers, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists
- Experience collecting multiple forms of data and displaying in graphical format
- Experience of managing challenging behaviour and demonstrating safe handling techniques
**Working hours**:
The hours can be agreed on discussion with the family, however they are looking for around 3 hours per day.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: £10.00-£25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
