Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is a subsidiary of Stadler. SRS UK provides a train maintenance service for a growing number of clients in the UK. In the next few years over 150 new Stadler trains will be joining the UK Rail Network which signifies the start of an exciting future for Stadler in the UK. Our current depot locations are in Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle and Norwich offering a wide scope of opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in the UK Rail Industry.

You will initially be based in Liverpool or Newcastle. However, the Company may from time to time alter your base of operation to meet business needs or require you to work in other locations normally within a 10-mile radius distance of your base location. This is a UK role and you will therefore be required to work at any Stadler UK location as necessary to successfully undertake your role.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimise supplier performance.
- Ensure the best value in cost, quality and lead times, ensuring an efficient supply chain to minimise downtime of rolling stock.
- Lead on supplier management and the development of appropriate contracting methodologies.
- Plan, control, and implement the storage and flow of products and materials.
- Develop and maintain an effective Supply Chain and Logistics Strategy embedding the requirements of all other strategies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and minimise risk by predicting the demand for materials.
- Processing of the Maintenance Planning data to identify the spares to be included in the support system.
- develop effective relationships with other parts of the Stadler Group to ensure the supply chain supports the objectives of SRSUK.
- Review and update supply chain practices in line with company policies, standards, laws and regulations.
- Ensure our ERP system is optimised for all supply chain and stock control matters.
- Ensure that all product and support items are packaged, handled, stored and transported in conformance with appropriate legislation, including Health & Safety and particularly for hazardous materials.
- Implement logistic strategies, tracking goods from the origination point to our warehouses.
- Ensure that appropriate documentation is available to support key stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory management including optimisation, stock control and inventory counting across all stock categories.
- Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met across all facilities including proactive strategies to manage the well-being of colleagues working in the function.
- Develop positive close working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure systems are in place to manage effectively suppliers and customers.
- Liaise regularly with Department Heads and Location Managers on supply chain and logistics best practice.
- Provide specialist advice to the UK Directors and Department Heads on major projects such as new contract awards and significant service level agreements.
- Ensure direct reports are adequately trained and competent.
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.

- Demonstrable commercial experience.
- Experience in supply chain/logistics.

Desirable:

- Demonstrate a customer driven attitude focussed on quality.
- Flexible and willing to support colleagues.
- Knowledge of HMRC regulations for import tax and duty charges.
- Experience in the UK railway or other transport industry.
- Working within a depot environment.
- Experience in working with organisations undergoing and delivering significant supply chain re-organisation.
