Handyman/caretaker

**General Maintenance Worker required for work across 2 sites in Leeds City Centre & 1 site in Sheffield (mileage covered) within apartment blocks - 4 days per week initially.**

Our client is a leading property maintenance provider working around the North of England. There could be an opportunity for permanent work going forwards but this is just a long term, ongoing temp job initially.

**About the job**:
**Successful applicants can expect to work on a temp basis (self employed).**

The successful applicant will be working within 3 high end, new apartment blocks. With that in mind, day to day maintenance will be mínimal and you will be required to be:

- Customer facing
- Helping residents with "user error" issues
- The face of the service team
- Approachable by staff and residents
- A friendly, approachable people person
- A visual presence on site should any issues arise

**Tasks will include (but not be limited to):

- **
- All aspects of light general property maintenance
- Customer engagement
- Some basic painting and decorating (whitewash)
- Replacing carpet tiles
- Moving furniture
- Collecting materials
- **Bin rotation once weekly**:

- **Helping out with anything and everything as required**

**This role is all about providing residents with a high level of customer service and being ready to attend all kinds of issues, whether they be maintenance related or as simple as helping residents with basic technical issues that occur day-to-day.**

**About You**:

- Proven background in property maintenance (or similar)
- Must have own basic tool kit
- Hard worker
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Keen eye for detail
- Trustworthy
- Will get stuck in to jobs
- Tools
- Vehicle is a bonus, as you will be travelling to Sheffield 1 day per week (expenses paid)

**Job Types**: Temporary contract, Temp to perm
Contract length: 1-24 months

**Salary**: £14.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Leeds: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- handyman: 2 years (required)
