It is an exciting time to join EPUT as we develop treatment pathways, new processes and therapeutic provisions to meet the needs of our clients with a diagnosis or traits of personality disorder. This role is a new development in the transformation agenda. The post holder will provide an arts psychotherapy intervention to clients on the wards and support clients in the vulnerable transition between ward and home. You will be joining an MDT of nursing and psychiatric colleagues, psychologists, Occupational Therapists and recreational therapists. The inclusion of arts psychotherapy will offer creative expression in a safe and contained way that has been proven to support reflection and articulation. The integration of OT, psychology and arts psychotherapy has proven to offer a more holistic therapeutic support.

The post holder will provide individual and group arts psychotherapy to ward clients, support the transition back home and into community services through the continuous provision of the arts psychotherapy interventions as agreed with the MDT at discharge. The post holder will be responsible for attending appropriate MDT meetings, maintaining clinical notes and other clinical administrative functions. The arts psychotherapist will support the therapeutic environment on the ward through their psychotherapeutic understanding of trauma, personality disorders and complex presentations. The post holder and clients will be supported in the important transitional work by the MDT.

The post holder will be able to develop a community based caseload. This work will be supported and supervised by colleagues in the psychotherapy service. Continued CPD is encouraged and supported.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

This post will support clients in the transition back home and to community services. The post holder will be able to continue the therapy provision through discharge and support the appropriate placement to community services. The post holder will be supported by colleagues from the transitioning and psychotherapy services, the Community Mental Health Team and community psychiatry.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to develop a community based case load. Supervision will be provided to meet the specific needs of the post holder and will include joining psychotherapy colleagues for clinical supervision.
