**Role Overview**

As the school's SENCo, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will be responsible for:

- **Strategic Leadership**: Developing and implementing the school's SEND policy, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and promoting a whole-school approach to inclusion.
- **Assessment and Intervention**: Coordinating the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEND, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- **Individual Education Plans (IEPs)**: Developing and reviewing IEPs for students with SEND, monitoring their progress, and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
- **Training and Support**: Providing training and guidance to staff on SEND issues, promoting inclusive practice, and fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
- **External Liaison**: Building and maintaining relationships with external agencies, such as local authorities, health services, and educational psychologists.
- **Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)**: A recognized teaching qualification with QTS.
- **National Award for SEN Coordination**: The National Award for SEN Coordination or equivalent qualification.
- **Experience**: Proven experience as a SENCo or in a similar role, preferably within a secondary school setting.
- **Knowledge**: In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, policy, and practice.
- **Skills**: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
