The main role of a Modern Apprentice will be to work in collaboration and under the supervision of the staff team to provide high quality and child centred care to children aged from 0 - 5 years.
- Establish positive relationships with colleagues and interact effectively and enthusiastically with children to develop their confidence, extend learning and promote children’s development
- To contribute to the planning of a stimulating environment in order to support and motivate young children
- With appropriate guidance use a range of approaches to gather, record and report observations and use these to reflect on each child’s development and consider next steps in learning
- With appropriate guidance support children with personal care routines, including toileting, nappy changing, dressing and feeding
- To support and encourage children to participate in the preparation of snacks whilst fully utilising opportunities to extend learning
- To participate in activities designed to evaluate the work of the settings
- To contribute to team development by sharing best practice, recognising the skills of others and supporting new initiatives

Completion of the Modern Apprenticeship
- The post is encompassed in the Modern Apprenticeship Programme and jobholders will be required to complete SCQF Level 7
- To fully participate in training and development opportunities to support successful achievement of the Modern Apprenticeship including making effective use of mentoring time to develop the professional skills determined by the programme
- Undertake any other duties as required to complete the Modern Apprenticeship

**Job Types**: Part-time, Apprenticeship

Expected hours: No more than 33 per week

- 8 hour shift

- Monday to Friday
