At the heart of the action, the Council’s own emissions are crucial to lead by example. We have reduced our carbon footprint by over 70% since we started our Local Authority Carbon Reduction Programme in 2008 and we plan to be net zero carbon by 2030.

The Sustainability team is responsible for driving this work forward and for the energy management of the organisation.

**About the role**

The job will involve working closely with colleagues from across the organisations to deliver energy efficiency and renewable energy projects using the latest technologies and driving behaviour change. You will also be responsible for keeping track of the Council’s energy and water consumption and recording progress against the Carbon Plan. You will be using our Energy software and working with spreadsheets to analyse data to inform written reports for the Councils Committees and Climate Programme Board such as the annual Greenhouse Gas report.

**About you**

We are looking for someone with a head for numbers and experience in an energy management or related role but who is also effective communicator. Passionate about saving energy and reducing our carbon footprint you will work closely with other Council departments and partner organisations to drive behaviour change as well as manage projects to deliver carbon savings across the Council’s estate and oversee our legal and reporting requirements.
