Finance Apprentice

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join the Falmouth Finance Team, at Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, which is part of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, a FTSE 100 company. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance team with the day-to-day running of the accounting function and other related finance tasks.

This opportunity will enable you to work across different areas of finance to gain confidence, experience and build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation.

Supervision and support will be provided and available to you during all tasks as you achieve the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) professional qualification.

**This role will focus on**:

- Support month end financial close activities
- Using Microsoft Dynamics AX software to maintain the nominal ledger and accounts
- Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Prepayments and accruals
- Fixed asset process control, postings and reporting
- Intercompany processing
- Transactional processing (credit cards and journal entry)
- Identifying and supporting with continuous improvements in process and controls
- Any other ad hoc duties as requested by line manager or Financial Controller.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**: Essential**
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/grade C or above
- 2 x A Levels / BTEC or Equivalent
- Ability to work collaboratively & communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders.
- Self-disciplined and efficient, with a positive, flexible and proactive nature.
- Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills with a good attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks.

**Desirable**
- Excel and data manipulation skills
