We are currently recruiting for an experience Phlebotomist Band 2 to join our busy yet rewarding team.
We are seeking to recruit someone with previous experience of working in a Hospital/Care Home or Community Nursing team who can provide an excellent/effective care to our housebound patient/client.

You will be an enthusiastic and experienced phlebotomist, with a warm personality and great people skills. Willing to undertake relevant training, you will take responsibility to provide an excellent care for housebound patients with multiple nursing need in the community.
You will be responsible for ensuring high quality evidence-based care for patients, their families and carers in the community.

Interviews to be held 20th June 2023
- Collects blood samples from patients in their own homes or other residential setting using evidence-based venepuncture procedures.
- Monitors and maintains the health, safety and security of self and patients during the venepuncture procedure.
- Practices within risk management/ occupational health legislation and Trust procedures.
- Collects samples from patients in high-risk categories and is aware of potential hazards. Can follow agreed protocol to minimise risk to self and others.
- Is aware of the clinical conditions and precautions that are necessary for sample quality to be maintained during the venepuncture perform the procedure to a high standard. This includes site selection, correct use of tourniquet and selection of blood sample bottles.
- Works to ensure that departmental performance targets are met by continually assessing priority of work, considering individual needs of the patient.
- Performs telephone duties that include making and receiving calls from and to the phlebotomy unit, conveying sensitive information and advice to healthcare professionals, patients and their representatives.
- Participate in the Prevention of avoidable hospital admissions in conjunction with the community nursing team/ community matrons.
- Your working hours would be mostly Mon to Fri, 8.30am to 4.30pm
- The Community Nurse service will also be covering the 4:30 to 19:00 pm shift on a Rota basis.

**The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role**:  
- Experience equivalent to NVQ Level 2/3
- Evidence of Phlebotomy experience
- Able to perform phlebotomy procedures without direct supervision
- Must have a UK Driving Licence and have a Car for work purpose.
