Working as one of our Welcome and Service Assistants this role will welcome visitors in the Langdale valley, helping them with their day and ensuring they have the best possible experience.

**This role will require weekend and bank holiday working with an emphasis on being available during school holidays. A full UK driver’s licence is essential for this role.**

**Hours / Contract**:648 hours from 11th March - 15 th September 2024 (27 weeks, approx. 3 days per week)

What it's like to work here:The Langdale valley can be both picturesque and menacing at the same time with the Pikes an iconic feature of the Lake District landscape and just two of the many Wainwrights to conquer in the Central Fells. It is a popular destination for thousands of visitors each year from climbers, peak baggers and generations of families getting together.

You’ll join a small team who take pride in their patch, share their love of the valley and spend time chatting to different visitors every day. Everyone gets stuck in with helping to manage the car parks on busy days, making sure visitors pay and scan their membership cards and encouraging prospective members to sign up to the National Trust.
- This role will mainly be based in the Langdale valley, but you may be asked to work in other locations in the Lake District with prior arrangement._

What you'll be doing:Moving around the beautiful Langdale valley you’ll be outdoors chatting with our visitors. Providing a fantastic welcome, you’ll ensure visitors have the information they need, share the work of the National Trust and grow support through promoting membership and fundraising.

You’ll ensure our sites are presented to a high standard through sign checks and litter picking. As this is an outdoors role, you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
