Are you passionate about supporting your community, supporting our volunteers and would you like to be part of an exciting venture that forms the heart of the community?

Hethersett Hearts has been providing community services within the village and beyond since March 2019. Our new venture is taking on Hethersett Community Post Office from October and we are looking for community-spirited individuals to come and join us and our team of volunteers.

Post offices have been at the heart of communities for centuries, providing vital products and services for everyone, however it is more than just a place to provide services; it is a community hub, especially for older and vulnerable people and it is an important source of social interaction.

We are seeking a part-time coordinator; a community-spirited individual to come and join us and our team of volunteers.

We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting the community, who is friendly, always has a smile on their face and has a desire to provide excellent customer service to help us continue to connect the community and customers with products and services they need.

Some of the key tasks will include meeting and greeting customers, understanding their needs and generally making their whole visit a great experience. You should become passionate about our products and promoting the services via social media. You will also contribute to keeping the post office area tidy, be ready to roll up your sleeves and understand what's needed to put customers at the heart of what we do.

In addition to post office duties, you will also support our team of volunteers with basic training and preparing volunteer work rotas.

We are also in the process of developing an exciting In-2-Work programme to offer support to those, sometimes vulnerable members of the community, who are looking to gain invaluable work experience, skills and confidence. The programme will be designed for individuals to obtain a recognised certificate to support them in gaining paid employment. Although the programme is in the development stage, the coordinator will have an invaluable part to play in being a role model and mentor to the individuals on the programme.
