If your answer is** yes**, we have an amazing opportunity for you to join our talented Highways team as a **Site Ecologist** based in our Guildford office. This role will see you providing support and advice to project teams on all aspects of ecological compliance. You will be actively engaged across all disciplines and phases of the construction project to ensure legal and company standards are maintained to deliver a culture of continual improvement.

**What you'll be doing**
- Conduct ecological inspections.
- Support investigations and assist with project management on ecological mitigation.
- Identify ecological risks and opportunities, understand legal and Business Management System requirements.
- Lead ecological surveys and translate policy, design and guidance into practical requirements. You may be called upon to provide occasional support to BNG team as needed.
- Report writing.
- Work with clients and regulators as well as design partners, subcontractors and in-house construction and environmental experts.

**Who we're looking for**
- Qualified to degree level in ecology o related discipline.
- You should be or be eligible for Associate Membership of CIEEM, ideally have one protected species survey licence (or working towards).
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately to internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through written communication.
- Understanding of UK environmental legislation (essential)
- Experience in the construction industry (ideally large scale infrastructure projects)
- Strong team player with a can-do attitude striving to work collaboratively to solve problems and support colleagues to deliver works to highest industry standards.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Have a valid CSCS card, however this can be arranged if necessary
