As a result of this growth, we’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our recently established Legal team and provide support to the organisation across the globe.

**What will you do?**
- Support our international sales team on customer contracts in direct markets (UK, China, Aus) and indirectly via our Channel Partners for the rest of the world
- Support our indirect and direct procurement teams on all supplier agreements, including contract manufacturing
- Help manage our IP portfolio, including trademark registrations across the globe
- As many of our products are sold to the public sector, consider and advise on the implications of the public procurement regulations in the UK and keep up to date with their developments
- Provide support where required to our research and development organisation based in Halifax, which may include advising on in
- or out-licensing agreements
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation at all levels to understand implications of contracts and to mitigate risks across the business
- Facilitate and proactively resolve business, legal and financial contracting issues
- Make appropriate recommendations on new and renewed contracts to support the business to negotiate favourable terms
- Operate tools and systems that ensure contractual records and documentation are properly filed, stored and retrievable
- Make clear any impact or risk to contract signatories
- Support on corporate governance, compliance and data protection including Modern Slavery, Anti-bribery, GDPR, PECR, e-Privacy

**What will you need?**
- Previous experience as a commercial lawyer operating in a hands-on role, either within an in-house legal department or in a professional law firm
- Proven success with contract drafting in a commercial environment, ideally manufacturing agreements and distribution agreements
- Demonstrable experience of providing advice at a pace that is consistent with the momentum of the business
- Capacity to establish and actively manage diverse stakeholder expectations
- Ability to communicate complex legal documents in layman’s terms
- Experience of effective performance management of contracts in a complex environment
- Experience within healthcare sector (Pharma/Med devices) is preferred but not essential
- Experience of research contracts and regulatory guidelines and frameworks appropriate to GAMA’s business preferable
- Qualified solicitor (qualified in England and Wales)
