Countrystyle Recycling is a dynamic, family-run Waste Management and Recycling Company. We collect, handle, process, dispose and recycle almost all forms of waste. Our flagship facility, at Ridham in Sittingbourne, Kent provides specialist services for the recycling of plasterboard, wood, food and the manufacture of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel).

We are seeking a highly professional and experienced SHEQ Officer to join our Compliance Team.

To support the Head of Health & Safety in ensuring that the business complies with health and safety legislation, to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace and to work to minimise occupational health & safety risks, accidents, injuries and operational losses.

Provide proactive support and guidance to the Company on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.

To assist with a range of product sampling and testing in order to meet customer’s quality specifications.

Oversight of the Integrated SHEQ Management Systems including, reviewing and updating procedures and preparing for an overseeing annual external SHEQ/ISO audit.

Respond to requests for advice from colleagues and external agencies.

Updating & Maintaining the Companies On-Line Health and Safety Portal (Citation)

Undertaking risk assessments of all offices and sites to regulatory and internal standards.

Assist with reviews and audits of client sites to ensure suitability, maintain contractual obligations and ensure the safety of our staff working on these sites.

Proactively work with operational teams to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified.

Assisting with monitoring and auditing of the company’s sites.

Responsible for ensuring effective close out of corrective actions raised, open incident reports, and significant site issues.

Assist the Head of Health & Safety with the production of a monthly activity report for the board.

Support the investigating of incidents where required and produce detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.

Liaise with authorities and external agencies as necessary.

Keeping up to date with new legislation and best practice in the industry.

Raise awareness on Health and Safety, Environmental & Quality matters through relevant communications for example toolbox talks and briefings, delivering induction training where necessary.

Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.

**Salary**: £29,000.00-£31,500.00 per year

**Experience**:

- SHEQ Officer: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- IOSH Managing Safety (preferred)
