Volunteer Coordinator

£23,129.00 with progression to £24,174.00 per annum

Hammersmith and Fulham

You have recent experience in the mental health field, or working with vulnerable adults, and a good understanding of service user development. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Volunteer Coordinator.

Our friendly teams in Hammersmith help people living with mental health problems to develop a sense of independence, purpose and fulfilment and gain the skills they need to return to work or training. But, we need your help. Your challenge? To support individuals with lived experience of mental health issues one on one through befriending and by aiding in the delivery of peer support groups to help those who are reforming their lives and helping service users to improve theirs. You will also help recruit and support volunteers and develop and co-ordinate befriending networks that will empower service users to improve and sustain their mental health and wellbeing.

To succeed, you’ll need the communication skills, written and verbal, it takes to consult, liaise and work effectively with colleagues and a wide range of organisations. Flexibility over working hours is important too, as is self-motivation, professional integrity and excellent time management, prioritising and work planning skills. Great at solving problems and making decisions, if you have experience of recruiting and/or supervising volunteers or an understanding of holistic support for people with mental health issues or implementing new services, even better (although this is not as essential as your genuine desire to help others).

So, are you ready to take on this rewarding role that comes with robust training and some really great benefits?

This is a permanent full time role, requiring the post-holder to work 37.5 hours per week.
