We have an AWEsome opportunity for a Senior Cost Controller to join us at the AWE.

This is an exciting time to join us as a Senior Cost Controller as we begin a once in a generation programme of work in support of the United Kingdom’s Continuous at Sea Deterrent.

We are located in the countryside between Reading and Basingstoke with onsite parking. There are good bus links between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury.

Salary band at starts £45,110 - if you can impress us with an AWEsome array of Cost Engineering capability and an abundance of charm, there is plenty of scope to negotiate upwards on this figure.

**BENEFITS**:
A typical day for a Senior Cost Controller could look like this:
Leading on and contributing to the creation of project baselines, adding value to cost reports and cost forecasts and assessment (sometimes negotiation) of sub-contractor value of work done, catching up with your team-members over coffee. Meeting and working with some of the most innovative scientists and engineers in the country, providing them with the guidance they need to manage and control their project costs. Input into project business cases and change control process, risk and opportunity process and peer review.

We would like you to bring a good mix of the following:
Experience of implementing best practice cost engineering processes and tools including:

- Budget production and maintenance including MOD ABC (Annual Budget Cycle)
- Cost Forecasting
- Change Control
- Variance Analysis
- Cost and Performance Reporting
- Forms of contract Eg NEC4
- Earned Value Management processes and techniques
- Working within Public Contract Regulations
- Networking
- Influencing and building great relationships
- Experience of coaching and mentoring
- Knowledge of confidence modelling processes
- Degree or HND/HNC in appropriate business or technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Membership of a relevant professional body (Eg ACostE) and/or APM qualifications

You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Security/ Developed Vetting Clearance (funded by us) in order to start with us in this role. It can take several months for clearance to come through.
