**About you**:
Library Services is seeking to appoint a Subject Librarian with a specific focus on the College of Arts, Environment, and Technology (CATE), based at the Frenchay Campus Library.

You will have a strong interest in inclusivity, ready to share ideas, and/or learn how to improve what we offer, e.g., in areas such as decolonising practices.

As a senior member of the library team, you will work closely with the College Librarian and strategic forums within the College to participate in curriculum design and learning and teaching developments.

Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students and researchers, you will design and deliver high quality embedded teaching on information and academic skills, such as critical and reflective writing, planning and structuring writing, note taking, finding, and evaluating information sources. You will deliver stand-alone academic skills sessions which are open to students from all colleges, some of which are specifically aimed at international students.

You will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the day-to-day work of the team. You will have the opportunity to lead on a key cross-service area and will contribute to decision making and lead projects, as well as having opportunities to present innovations and developments at internal and external conferences and events. This post will particularly lead a new area of work exploring how Library Services could provide entry-level support for students using research survey and analysis tools such as NVivo.

You will line manage three (FTE) Subject Support Librarians to enable them to deliver high quality services and to develop their skills.

As a member of Library Services, you will be part of a strong and collaborative community of professional librarians and specialists, and central to the design and delivery of innovative, high quality student support.

You will have:

- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, e.g.: Chartered membership of CILIP or an HEA Fellowship.
- Experience of development and delivery of academic literacy teaching / support through a variety of online and face to face methods.
- Proficiency in working closely with colleagues to provide effective services through confident relationship management skills.
- Good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate broad based administrative experience in a professional service in a large complex organisation, e.g., Higher Education.
- Excellent IT skills with current experience of MS Office online, web-based information retrieval systems and experience of analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data to evidence decision-making.
- Experience of staff management and performance review processes.
- Experience of working in libraries or similar information resource environments.
