Medical Receptionist

**Job summary**

Yarm Medical Practice is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible person to join our Medical Receptionist team. We are a busy practice of over 15,500 patients and if you are able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a happy, empathetic outlook then we would love to hear from you.

**Main duties of the job**

You will ideally have experience of working with the public and be keen to work in a busy environment. IT Skills and previous experience of working in General Practice desirable but not essential as training will be given.

We are a practice of 5 GP partners, 2 salaried GP's with a full compliment of staff including Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and administrative support. As a team we are supportive of each other, value communication but also value each others roles within the practice. NHS Pension applies to this role.

**Job description / Job responsibilities**

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and telephone duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, signposting patients to appropriate services, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

**Salary**: £9.50-£10.04 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Yarm, TS15 9DD: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (required)

**Experience**:

- Medical Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
