We are recruiting for Assistant Finance Technicians which will be supporting a number of directorates. The Assistant Finance Technician is tasked with supporting budget calculations, revenue and capital forecast estimation, cost re-allocation and varianceanalysis of MPS performance both in year and between years. The Assistant Technician ensures that the outsourced provider has timely and accurate journal entry data for upload, forecasting data and budgetary allocation. The Assistant Technician will also assistin analysing budget variances each month - building upon data produced by the outsourced provider - to inform and finalise the budget forecast, via Business Partners / Finance Analysts and budget holders.

The main responsibilities include:

- Supporting the Finance team with timely analysis regarding actual results and forecasts, enabling the team to propose options to ensure the organisation achieves its operational goals based on quality assured values.
- Supporting the Finance team with the design, build and maintenance of the service based costing model. Analysing the data as directed to address the commercial needs of the business and aiding the identification of areas for improvements and controllingMPS spend.
- Providing the Finance Team management information to enable the development of costing options for services that support the preparation of business cases.
- Data mining and analysis to support service costing, as directed, to identify key cost drivers and production of Value for Money data for benchmarking.
- Providing data analysis in support of ad hoc projects as directed.
- Providing financial analysis as directed to support the Finance Technician.
