**Solutions Architect** (Contract)**

**Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension)**

**Day Rate: £650 - £750 (Dependent on experience)**

**Location: Remote (Occasional travel to Manchester)**

**Job Summary**

The bank is well underway with its "Simplification Programme", consolidating multiple mortgage and savings platforms into a single mortgage and a single savings platform. This will allow the bank to exit a number of data centres, however work is requiredto ensure services can be switched off in a safe and controlled way, ensuring there is no impact on the wider operation of the Bank.

**Role Responsibilities**

Architect resources are required to support this work and activities will involve:

- Overseeing the work of 3rd parties performing discovery work regarding what is running on servers and ensuring the outputs provide the relevant insight
- Systematically reviewing what services are running on or depend upon servers / devices / network / storage components and working with technical and business SMEs to determine the role played by those services
- Defining treatments for services that need to endure in some way, documenting them as Key Decisions and taking them through a governance process
- Performing design work where the treatments require some form of technical build or migration
- Keeping clear records regarding treatments, progress of investigations etc to support upward reporting and audit requirements
- Providing regular reporting updates on progress
- Co-ordinating activity of other architect and analyst resources
- Reporting on progress to working groups, as well as performing discovery and design work
