sia Abrasives Ltd (part of the Bosch Power Tools/Accessories Division) is an innovative manufacturer of non woven and foam abrasive products as well as a distributer in the UK of coated abrasives. The sites in Greetland, West Yorkshire and Alfreton, Derbyshire, have a wealth of experience in the manufacture and development of abrasive products, ideally complementing sia Abrasives’ systems solutions.

**Job Description**:
This role plays a key part in the success of the department by directly supporting the UK HSE Manager in achieving business objectives. You will be a key point of contact for day-to-day issues, sharing information, providing advice, administration of management system and engaging proactively with Associates. Through advanced training you will develop your skills and build your experiences to a high level.

**As part of this role, you will be enrolled on an appropriate advanced Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma or MSc Degree, which will be fully funded. This role is located at the Alfreton site.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist Line Managers in their duty to review a variety of risk assessments
- Advise Line Managers on appropriate control measures
- Support the UK HSE Manager in HSE improvements & associate participation
- Lead and chair the HSE committee meetings
- Assist in the creation & distribution of regular HSE related publications
- Help develop and promote quarterly HSE campaigns around the site
- Assist with the maintenance of the HSE standards & procedures library including the Bosch internal standards
- Provide data collection, analysis, and generation of reports for key HSE KPI’s, databases and compliance/corrective action registers
- Assist Line Managers in the investigation of incidents and accidents - following training
- Maintenance of the incident register plus associated investigation reports
- Carry out regular HSE Inspections - following training
- Assist with HSE meeting administration
- Assist with organising internal & external training in conjunction with the UK HSE Manager & HR department
- Updating HSE documents & records both electronically and manually

**Qualifications**:

- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (although reasonable safety experience will be considered)
- Ability to study at a degree level for your personal development and training
- Ability to prioritise quickly changing demands
- Proven proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Visio and Project would be an added benefit
- Ability to take ownership of a project and act independently with a degree of initiative
- Good communication skills required to develop effective relationships at all levels
- Attention to detail is vital
