We are looking for a caring and supporting Counsellor to assist within our Pastoral department to provide support for our students.

**Position: School Counsellor**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To be responsible for the confidential counselling services to students as needed, including group sessions.
- To promote a caring and supportive environment where concerns can be explored with discretion and sensitivity.
- To work closely with the pastoral team to ensure the wellbeing of students.
- To offer guidance to members of staff in supporting student.
- To liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Lead on a frequent basis.
- To have a thorough knowledge of the mental health provision locally and nationally.
- To work within the codes of practice and ethics recommended by the BACP.

**Requirements**:

- Level 4/5 diploma in Person Centred Counselling/ Humanistic Psychotherapy.
- Current membership with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
- Accredited or working towards accreditation with BACP.
- Further therapeutic training or qualification in working with children and young people.
- An understanding of the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues of children and young people.

This is a term-time position, with 2 working days per week. This position attracts an annual salary of £8,993 per annum (£16.22 per hour).
