**Location**:West Bromwich (You may be required to travel to other sites across the UK on an ad-hoc basis)
**Contracted Hours**: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
**Primary objective of this position**:
As a Procurement Specialist at MBP, you would be expected to manage new and existing commercial contracts, and drive vender performance through quality and cost reviews, conduct tendering and research alternative sources and secure cost savings within the business. Manage the full lifecycle of the procurement process, including tendering, negotiating, contract award, and management. Recommend new products, services, or materials in keeping with industry trends.
**Key responsibilities and performance measures for this role**:
- Managing existing commercial services and contracts. Including but not limited to: utilities, I.T. suppliers, insurance, communication, fuel, plant and machinery.
- Working in conjunction with the Facilities Department;
- On boarding of new commercial suppliers and managing their KPI’s;
- Corresponding with key suppliers and business partners;
- Reviewing, negotiating and securing cost savings on the business;
- Coordinating supplier bids and contact renewal dates;
- Dealing with supplier enquiries and bid progression;
- Having responsibilities for assigned capex.
- Monitor, and record the performance of suppliers
- Managing the company’s insurance, and ensure the group is being compliant with new or updated regulations;
- Must be able to anticipate the needs of the company and plan ahead for effective resource management
**Minimum Qualifications / Experience required**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- CIPS Qualification would be desirable
- At times, assertive negotiations skills may be necessary to ensure the company remains competitive;
- Proven capability of delivering deals - from mid to higher levels of complexity and which may be global in nature, including all aspects of the tender process.
- Experience in understanding contracts and ability in contract drafting, with limited requirement for specialist legal support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, very often to tight deadlines, and deliver results.

**Additional skill requirements**:
- Knowledge of statutory requirements applicable to a manufacturing facility
- Good sense of urgency and responsiveness
- Proficient in handling/drafting legal documents.
