- **We are delighted to be working with a local authority client, recruiting on their behalf for a Brokerage Officer, a role that is available on a full time basis.**_
- **This is a long term and commands a standard hourly rate of £13.67 per hour.**_
- **Job Description**_
- To source Care Packages to meet assessed needs for Adult Social Care
- Develop and maintain information on local care providers’ availability including all associated financial and administrative tasks
- Arrange care packages from a range of providers, external and in house; including complex packages of care and making required arrangements for the commencement of the package of care, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed
- Ensure that relevant signatures and contracts are put in place to enable effective payment of providers and charging of clients
- Ensure that relevant agreements are completed and put in place in a timely manner, in line with contracts to enable the effective payment of providers and charging of clients
- Assist in the co-ordination of the system for paying creditor invoices, including payments to residential and domiciliary care providers, in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Best Value Performance Indicators.
- Responsible for the production and distribution of information relevant to the brokerage function, to both internal and external stakeholders
- Notify the relevant commissioner of any gaps in care provision, with evidence that supports this
- Ensure joint funded packages are accurately recorded and paid in line with appropriate panel decisions
- Deal with actions on the Controcc portal in a timely manner
- Oversee enquiries and ensure that they are dealt with effectively, efficiently, and accurately
- Responsible for inputting and updating records both manually and electronically on multiple systems, including extracting required information
- Promote and maintain effective communications with other sections within Adult Social Services, Authority and outside agencies
- Assist in the provision of information as is required by members, other departments, the council’s external auditors, government departments and other agencies, for both internal and external reporting purposes
- Ensure own personal development through the Performance Development Review process
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults and children for whom you have responsibility, or with whom you come into contact, to include adhering to all specified procedures.
- Ensure that you work in line with all the policies and procedures and ensure that you are aware of your obligations under these
- Behave according to the Employees’ Code of Conduct and ensure that you are aware of your obligations and responsibilities re: conflicts of interest, gifts, hospitality and other matters covered by the Code
- Carry out your role in line with the Client's Equality agenda
- To comply with health and safety policies, organisational statements and procedures, report any incidents / accidents/ hazards and take a pro-active approach to health and safety matters in order to protect yourself and others
