Nursery Cook

**Nursery Cook**
**Hours**: 17½ hours per week (10am to 1:30pm, Monday to Friday)
To work in the Kitchen in line with the job description (available on request) and follow company policies and procedures.
Duties will include:
- Providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care.
- Plan and produce seasonal nutritious meals/menus on a quarterly basis. Ensuring special diets and cultural/religious preferences are catered for.
- Beware of allergies and individual dietary requirements
- Keep to timescales for sending menus and food orders
- Order, store and cook food accordingly, paying particular attention to perishable foods and stock rotation.
- Ensure a safe, clean and tidy kitchen is maintained by adopting good kitchen practices and adhering to cleaning schedules and nursery policies and procedures
- Have a working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH regulations and guidelines.
- Manage all kitchen duties. i.e. food preparation, pot washing, batch cooking and baking
- Ensure all daily routines are adhered to and records kept up to date.
- Communicate with parents and other visitors in a calm, friendly and efficient manner
- Keep to budgets and monitor expenditure
- Contribute to and participate in team meetings/team activity
- Carry out any ad hoc projects or duties as requested by your line manager
- Take reasonable care of yourself and others and to comply with company health and safety rules
You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
- Food Hygiene certificate or be willing to undertake this training;
- Work according to the Safe Food Better Business;
- Knowledge of food nutrition.
The successful applicant will need to pay for an enhanced DBS check or be on the Update service.
Initial Interviewing will be via Teams Video Conferencing
