**Job description**:
As a cyber security policy advisor you will:

- Be at the forefront of cyber-security policy making for the UK government. As a cyber security policy advisor, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing national cyber-security strategy and guidance.
- Leading a team of two you will have responsibility for task management, development and pastoral support.
- Leverage your expertise to solve complex policy challenges and develop innovative solutions that strengthen government cyber defences. Collaborate with leading security experts and researchers to create forward-thinking policies and standards that evolve with the threat landscape.
- Drive change through high-impact policy initiatives while enjoying the challenges of a fast-paced environment. With flexibility and strategic thinking, rapidly respond to emerging cyber risks and high-priority requests.
- Provide vital thought leadership and advice to senior government officials and ministers to inform long-term strategic planning as well as timely policy decisions.
- Engage frequently with parliament by responding to parliamentary inquiries, handling ministerial correspondence, and informing policy decisions by senior government officials and ministers.
- Join a talented, dedicated team of cyber-security professionals working together to protect government networks and critical national infrastructure.
- Make your mark advancing pioneering policies that aim to make the UK the safest place to live and work online. Become a trusted advisor on the cybersecurity issues that matter most in government today.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyse complex issues, challenge assumptions, and devise novel security policy solutions.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to explain complexity, distil information and convey key messages to diverse audiences.
