**EQUANS is looking for a Building Control Surveyor to join our team in Grimsby. This is a permanent role working full time hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,000 - £33,000 depending on skills and experience and benefits package.**

**What will you deliver?**:
We are looking for a Building Control Surveyor to provide building regulation advice and guidance in a forward thinking and customer focused environment. We are entering an exciting phase of growth and are interested in hearing from applicants with a commercial focus who are keen to develop and grow our business.
- Manage a case load of complex and significant schemes, both residential and commercial, to include plan checking and site inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our key clients.
- Use professional skill and judgement to offer advice on acceptable solutions to meet the statutory requirements of the Building Regulations
- To identify opportunities to develop and implement improvements and innovations in service delivery to create flexible, responsive, and proactive services.
- To assist in effectively marketing and developing the building control service.
- To undertake other statutory duties including Demolition, Safety at Sports Grounds, Event Safety Advisory etc. as and when required.
- To control Dangerous Structures, including participation in the out of hours emergency call out service, on a rota basis.
- To have or be willing to work towards registration as a local authority building inspector
- Out of hours rota once initiated

**Who are we looking for?**:
- HND/HNC in Building Control or 3 years relevant experience
- Accreditation to LABC competency matrix level 5 or equivalent knowledge skills and experience and committed to gain accreditation
- Associate membership of RICS, CABE or CIOB
- knowledge of statutory and regulatory frameworks in building control
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Be a positive team worker
- Excellent customer care skills
- Must have a flexible approach to changing and challenging situations to meet service pressures
- The ability to promote and achieve a responsive and effective approach to dealing with customers, complaints and service issues
- Ability to market and sell our services
- Be trained or be willing to train in associated skills (such as a Fire Risk Assessor, SAP and EPC Assessor, SBEM etc.
