**Fostering Panel Frequency: Our panels are held approximately once every six weeks. The successful applicant will be put onto a rota and would be looking at covering panels on a regular basis throughout the year.**

Kasper are a small, not-for-profit fostering agency based in Whitstable, Kent. We have been established since 1998 and have carers across the South East, London, Essex and Luton.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Independent Fostering Panel Member.

**Role Details**

**What does a Fostering Panel Do?**
- We monitor and make recommendations on the continuing approval of and reviews of foster parents
- We make recommendations in line with the fostering regulations
- We attend -annual panel training.
- We meet regularly with the agency representatives.

**Independent Panel Member’s Responsibilities**:

- To prepare for Panel meetings, reading Panel papers carefully, identifying key issues and alerting as appropriate.
- To contribute to the Panel’s consideration of cases and to the making of clear and well evidenced recommendations.
- To ensure that all those attending Panel are treated with respect and courtesy.
- To address diversity issues and promote anti-discriminatory practice at all times.
- To ensure that issues of concern, in relation both to individual cases and to more general matters are raised as appropriate.
- To safeguard the confidentiality of all Panel papers and Panel discussions.

- £200 per full day, inclusive of reading time
- Mileage at 45p per mile to our Panel venue (usually our Whitstable Office)

**Salary**: £200.00 per day

COVID-19 considerations:
We have the ability to hold panels remotely in line with Covid-19 restrictions.

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- social care: 1 year (preferred)
