We are looking for responsible, caring people to join our fantastic teams in Nottingham as Residential Childcare Worker. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable,and healthy.

Becca House is based in the Nottingham region and is within commuting distance from Mansfield, Derby and surrounding towns and villages.

**The opportunity**

There will be a thorough induction, fully expensed training courses, the opportunity to be enrolled on an accredited diploma and pairing with a buddy, which together will help you expand your knowledge, get qualifications, and prepare to become a QualifiedSupport Worker. **The Role**

Acorn Education and Care work directly with vulnerable children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and complex needs. You will be patient and compassionate and, most of all, dependable - working hard to forge a much-needed relationship of trust withthose in your care.

This will involve learning about the young person’s interests as well as their dislikes and their triggers, using that connection as a launchpad for a rewarding relationship. A passion for this kind of relationship-building is essential.

You will be responsible for the wellbeing of the children or young people in your care. This will include chaperoning the children to appointments and activities, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, and where appropriate administeringmedication.

Working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers, you will co-operate and share knowledge and learning to the benefit of great care. Excellent communication skills are essential, both in terms of teamwork and - most importantly - as you willbe in close contact with the children you care for.

**Who are we are looking for?**

You will play a key role in the smooth-running of the site, and you will have a good grasp of safety and hygiene, and a conscientious dedication to the young people’s wellbeing. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts - and one that touchesthe real lives of people every day
