Job Title: Joiner

Summary:
Join the dedicated team at Belfast City Council as a Joiner in the Facilities Management section of the Legal and Civic Services department. As a skilled tradesperson, you'll play a crucial role in property maintenance operations, contributing to both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across council properties.

Your Duties:

- Perform a full range of joinery work in accordance with trade standards.
- Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks within council properties.
- Work from supplied working drawings and identify, order, and collect required materials.
- Provide job-costing and time-recording information as necessary.
- Participate in a 24-hour emergency callout service as required.
- Engage in training and provide on-the-job coaching to new employees, contractors, and apprentices.
- Drive council vehicles and erect/dismantle scaffolding as necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Legislation, CDM Legislation, and Belfast City Council policies.
- Motivate and manage assigned staff, implementing training and development programs as needed.
- Participate in recruitment, induction, and in-service training activities.
- Adhere to council and departmental policies including customer care, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
- Undertake duties to enhance and protect the reputation of the council.
- Fulfil any other relevant duties as required, adapting to evolving organisational demands.

Your Profile:
Essential Criteria:

- Time-served Joiner or possess relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 Certificates in Craft and Advanced Craft in Carpentry and Joinery).
- Possess a full, current driving license valid in Northern Ireland or access to transportation meeting job requirements.
- Minimum one year's relevant experience in building maintenance and benchwork/joinery repairs to commercial properties.
