**Your new role**

National Highways is excited to be looking for 2 Senior Property Advisors due to continued growth of the business. This role will sit in our Major Projects (MP) directorate as part of the Property and Compensation division and will be based in Manchester. However here at National Highways, we have a hybrid working approach, meaning the role will be a combination of office/site attendance and agile home working.

In this role you will provide excellent business-monitoring and planning functions for the Property and Compensation Team, directly supporting the Principal Property Advisor by understanding and reporting on the business of the team in terms of workload, financial spend and forecasting.

You will also be an important point of contact for both internal and external customers and stakeholders, in particular, the relevant Programme Management Office (PMO) as well as being a coach and mentor to others in the team, helping to develop property skills and expertise.

**What you’ll be leading on;**
- Provide reliable, accurate and professionally-sound property-related business management functions based on high-quality information and data management practices.
- Forecast property-spend monthly, providing accurate figures to the relevant Programme Management Office (PMO) team.
- Ensure day-to-day work within the team follows appropriate processes with the necessary levels of control and governance. Provide support and guidance to team members whenever necessary.
- Personally manage some of the more important property stakeholders and customers on specific projects, and give guidance and support to the project property advisors and case managers when necessary, helping them develop their own skills and knowledge around property issues.
- Identify property-related risks and issues on projects, escalating unresolved risks to the Principal Property Advisor.
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the property supply chain, (professional valuers, surveyors and solicitors) to ensure compliance with due process and governance.

**To be successful you’ll need;**
- Experience of contract/supplier management
- A good understanding of planning procedures for large infrastructure projects
- Ideally a qualified surveyor or paralegal or working towards a similar status. Alternatively, good and successful experience working on the client-side of major projects dealing with related issues.
- Proven experience of being able to manage relationships and resolve conflicts, both internally and externally with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Experience making significant day-to-day decisions without supervision - able to understand complex property issues and explain them to colleagues and customers
- To be able to understand, check and approve complex property-related cost estimates and forecasts
