We are looking for highly motivated Operating Department Practitioners to join the Acute and Obstetric Team in the Leeds General Infirmary.

The team work within a number of clinical areas, primarily in the Acute and Obstetric theatres, also Accident and Emergency Resus, Cardiac Cath labs and Interventional Radiology. There are also opportunities to work with the other specialities within the LGI. You will be part of a supportive, collaborative Team with a multidisciplinary approach to peri-operative care pathways.

We work with clinical experts from many specialties, including Vascular, Maxillofacial, ENT, Obstetrics, Radiology, Cardiology and Anaesthesia. The LGI is a designated Major Trauma Centre and is also Tertiary Referral Hospital for the above specialities.

The post will be suited to both experienced practitioners and those just starting on their perioperative careers, working an anaesthetic and/or scrub role. You will be supported in your role with a full induction, individualised preceptorship and support from team members and leader. Encouragement and support will be given to develop your clinical, communication, administrative and interpersonal skills, to enable you to deliver high quality care to Leeds Patients.

For all new starters to the Trust we have a structured Introduction to Professional Practice (IPP) Induction programme to prepare you for working at LTHT. We also have a 6 month preceptorship framework to support you in your new role, which incorporates further education sessions and support forums.

The position will require 24 hour 7 days working with a flexible working pattern.
