Furnace Operative

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Permanent Furnace Operative for our valued client based in the wv14 area of Wolverhampton.

**Salary**

£35,864 to £36,865

**Hours**

Working on a 3-shift rotation basis of 8.25hrs per day

(5.30am-13.45pm, 13.30pm-21.45pm, & 21.30pm-5.45am).

**Main Functional Responsibilities**
- To maintain the smooth running of the refining furnace, duties will involve Charging furnace, Slagging off furnace, Chemical additions during refining and control room activities during casting
- To be able to work on all parts of the refiner as and when required.
- To assist in the data recording in all aspects of cast production (some computer input will be required.)
- To work to the highest levels of Health and Safety and Environmental Standards at all times.
- To provide additional support and/or temporary replacement of appropriate production personnel.
- Flexible approach and willingness to learn. Ability to work within the team but equally to motivate and focus the team on achievement results.
- To carry out such other responsibilities as may be reasonably required.
- To be aware of the internal procedures for waste segregation
- To ensure compliance to the highest level of Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards.
- To understand the requirements of the Duty of Care regulation for waste management and to understand the importance of satisfactory completing the waste transfer documentation.
- To be aware of the internal procedures for waste segregation

- Such other tools and equipment, relevant to role responsibilities.

**Benefits & Requirements**:

- Hourly rate as above (not age dependent)
- 28 days Paid Annual Leave pro-rata for PAYE (inclusive of statutory holiday)

Proven practical skills or on completion of a Skills Test
