**We are excited to recruit another PA to join our PCN and work within our team of 3 practices. Whilst PAs are usually embedded within a practice, we are building a strong PA team with leadership.**

**Main duties of the job**

Joining our team as a newly qualified Physician Associate, you will be offered a full preceptorship taking you through all aspects of general practice developing skills and competencies allowing you, in time, to work at the full extent of your scope of practice, building skills, training and learning in wide ranging complex medicine. You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, supportive team committed to helping you succeed, develop and learn. You will receive tutorials, support and supervision from your GP Training supervisor throughout your preceptorship. You will be given the opportunity to present cases and work under instruction building your confidence and competence striving to work independently working with long term condition management, acute, same day and visits. On completion of your preceptorship, we will be looking to develop your career exploring specialist role development, leadership and student mentoring.

**About us**

Our PCN is a collaborative group of GPs. Our patient groups include armed forces families. We have ambitious but pragmatic ideas about the delivery of community healthcare, and a history of successfully working together as a locality. We are:

- Barcroft Medical Centre, Amesbury
- St Melor House Surgery, Amesbury
- The Castle Practice, Ludgershall with a large branch in Tidworth

Between us, we boast five GP trainers plus additional educators for medical students.

Located close to the beautiful and ancient cathedral city of Salisbury, the area comprises rural and semi-rural landscapes plus historic military areas, good rail links to London and the South West. You would be embedded within one of our three practices to ensure continuity.

Our CQC ratings are Good and we achieve the Quality and Outcomes Framework standards each year. Our teams are multi-disciplinary - comprising GPs, practice nurses, health care assistants, a pharmacy technician, social prescriber, first contact physiotherapists with administrative and IT support. We operate an open culture and multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure constant learning and improvement.

Full time, 37.5 hours or part-time are offered.

**To be appointed to this role it is essential that you**:

- Have completed a post-graduate physician associate course (either PG Diploma or MSc);
- Have maintained professional registration with the Faculty of Physician Associates and/or the General Medical council following implementation of statutory regulation, working within the latest code of professional conduct (CIPD)
- Have passed the UK Physician Associate (PA) National Re-Certification Exam, which needs to be retaken every six years if you qualified over 6 years ago
- Participate in continuing professional development opportunities by keeping up to date with evidence-based knowledge and competence in all aspects of their role, meeting clinical governance guidelines for continuing professional development (CPD)
- Will be working under supervision of a doctor as part of the medical team
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Have a full and clean UK Driving licence
- Will be registered with or eligible for registration with the PAMVR (Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register)
