An opportunity has arisen in Berkshire for a Catering Assistant. The Catering Assistant will assist the Catering Supervisors in the day-to-day operation of an efficient and effective catering service in the Main Kitchen and on the Wards.
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Food preparation and cooking/regeneration of cook-freeze food as directed.
- Prepare all counter areas/dining areas before service.
- Serving all food and beverages during service times, always having due regard for portion size.
- Carry out food temperature recording.
- Carry out table clearing and cleaning duties in the Servery, Kitchen, Wards and Restaurant.
- Set out and remove dining furniture when required.
- Operating the till during service (when applicable).
- Comply with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations
- Where applicable reconcile takings and float at the end of each service period.
- Ensure familiarization with all tariff charges for food and beverages.
- Assist in all general cleaning duties.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
- Comply with all Health & Safety rules and regulations.
- Undertake any training as required.
- Work unsupervised in the absence of the Chef/Catering Supervisors.
- Where appropriate to cover certain duties, in the absence of the Chef/Catering Supervisors.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks or instructions.

- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Consistence performance standards and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a member of the catering team.
- Ability to interact with customers.
- To be flexible in working hours for functions, meetings, certain peak periods, absence cover and to work on a rota system.
- A good attendance record.

**Core qualities and attributes**
- Foundation Food Hygiene is essential.
- Training will be given.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Good interpersonal skills, preferably gained in a similar environment.

In return Bellrock are offering a salary of £30,000 Working hours are Monday - Friday 30 hours per week and 25 days holiday per year + bank holidays.
