**Your new role, what's involved?**
Project leadership is central to this role, drawing on resources and expertise within the team to deliver projects. The role will enable you to expand and grow your existing ornithological expertise and expand this by drawing on the network of industry leads within the wider team. The role will provide you with the opportunity to develop a multidisciplinary approach to project delivery interfacing with other related disciplines (e.g. water management, landscape, historic environment) as we develop the right coordinated solution for our clients and the environment.

Project Management will be core part of the role in which you will have the opportunity to lead some of our more complex projects, managing supply chain inputs, sub-contracts and overseeing extensive field survey campaigns. We pride ourselves on the enduring trusted relationships we have with our clients and you will have the opportunity to carry these relationships forwards and build new relationships of your own.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The main focus of the role will be acting as ornithology technical lead for a range of projects, including technical review of documents, provision of technical advice to clients, liaison with consultees and production of EcIA and HRA reports.
- Alongside this, you will act as ornithology task manager for major infrastructure / DCO projects, ensuring the successful delivery of survey programmes, accurate collation and presentation of data, technical review of baseline reports and provision of key information to the technical lead.
- Providing clients with accurate, innovative and proportionate ornithological and consenting advice in relation to a range of exciting projects
- Contribute to ornithology inputs across all project lifecycles from bidding/ feasibility/optioneering, extensive field survey programming, detailed design and assessment.
- You will be responsible for the management and development of a team of ornithologists.
- Mentoring, coaching and supporting junior staff. We are passionate about continual professional development and look to our senior staff to provide on the job coaching, mentoring and support to ensure our team members grow and develop to achieve their aspirations and meet our client needs
- Networking across the wider UK consultancy business, developing relationships with other technical disciplines in the pursuit of enhancing our offer to the market and in striving to continually innovate approaches, techniques, and solutions for our clients
- Project Management will be core part of the role in which you will have the opportunity to lead some of our more complex projects, managing supply chain inputs, sub-contracts and overseeing extensive field survey campaigns.

- An appetite for driving continual technical development and innovation within our ornithology and wider biodiversity team
- Experience of operating in a consultancy business at a senior level leading the ornithology elements of major projects and delivery of high quality deliverables, with a demonstrable track record for successful delivery from bid stage through to project closure
