**Logistics Specialist - Job Summary**:
We’re supporting our client, a leading packaging and containers manufacturing company, based in Winsford, who are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join their growing team. You will be reporting directly to the Logistics Lead will be working from their warehouse site in Cheshire.

**Responsibilities**:

- Within the logistics team, focusing on order processing, liaison with third party transport service providers and the preparation of export documentation.
- Achieve maximum value possible through efficient planning of export shipments to minimise transport and storage costs.
- To support the logistics team with administrative holiday, absenteeism, and training cover.
- Responsible for and required to actively participate in company safety procedures and systems within the areas that the role incorporates in pursuit of a safe working environment.
- Responsible to follow company guidelines within procurement activities to minimise environmental and safety impacts with business conduct.
- To assist with, or lead investigations to support and react to customer needs, in the event of quality / delivery concerns.
- Monitor internal and external customer failures in line with departmental targets and ensure that the appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- To identify and positively influence opportunities relating to storage and distribution costs.
- Help manage current customer accounts, to include order-processing, liaison with 3P service providers, preparation of export documentation.
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into company operating system.
- Track and trace shipments as required.
- Ensure documents are sent on time to customer or broker for customs purposes.
- Contribute to maintain strong relationships with suppliers (airlines, trucking companies, and others).
- Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.
- Ensure all customers’ standard operating procedures are followed and updated where required.
- Maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
- Provide shipment quotes for customers and set up shipments as required.
- Maintain and file all records in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
- Assist the sales team with quotations and client/product knowledge.
- Ensure that all areas of specific responsibility within the team workspace are maintained to 5S standards.
- Assignment of routine work from the Logistics Lead, dependent upon specific customer needs and priorities.
- Prioritising workload, to include order processing, progress chasing, export documentation, supplier liaison.
- The post holder will have direct contact with all other employees within the factory at all levels. The nature of the contact will be both verbal and in writing.
- Additional unsupervised contact with customers, transportation providers and suppliers to pass and receive information and resolve problems for business continuity and improvement purposes.
- Efficiencies / performance of specific operations, which have an impact upon the cost of loading/
- unloading, transport and storage costs and requirement for overtime working.
- Effective deployment and maintenance of all business processes within the logistics function.
- The role is mostly warehouse-based with some time being used for reporting & attending meetings. The role is located at a single plant, although travel to other OPCOs within the group may be required.

**About You**:

- Previous experience in a Customer Services role, preferably in a Shipping and Logistics environment.
- Problem solver.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team and be open to the views of others.
- Show respect toward others with cultural differences.
- Quality decision making.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Possess the ability to remain calm and objective when working under pressure.
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Positive attitude to change and improvement.
- Additional foreign language a plus.
