Hours: 20 hours per week. Reasonable hours outside of this may be required to fulfil the duties of this position.
Contract type: Temporary 6 month fixed term position with possibility of extension
Start date: Immediate

**Salary**: £11.75 per hour

**Introduction to Larne Communication Care Centre**

Larne Community Care Centre (LCCC) is a community organisation based in Larne. We offer support to families throughout Larne and help individuals both young and old who are at risk within our community.

Larne Community Care Centre was established in 1994 to support and enhance the quality of life for local residents from the whole community. We have continuously grown and diversified to meet the needs of the community within the Larne Area. We are managed by a Voluntary Management Committee and have Charitable Status.

**Scope**

We are looking for individuals who are passionate, committed, and enthusiastic to join our support team to help make a positive difference to the lives of people affected by homelessness. You will work as part of the Larne Crisis Accommodation team to provide personalised housing related support services to homeless families and adults at risk.

You will have experience of working with marginalised, disadvantaged, and disenfranchised people with multiple and complex needs. Being able to positively engage with our clients, you will understand homelessness, housing-related support, and the needs of homeless people.

A support worker’s day is varied & flexibility is required. The people we support live independent lives and as such the support we provide is individually tailored to their needs. Duties may include enabling them to take part in a range of interests & activities that support a healthy, well balanced & fulfilling lifestyle.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Work with clients to draft and implement realistic and achievable support plans and risk assessments, ensuring each client receives a personalised holistic, wrap-around, and strength-based package of support that meets their needs.
- Carry a caseload of key-working clients and continually review and update each client’s support plan.
- Communicating frequently with clients so as to be able to identify their needs and attend to them accordingly
- Develop effective working relationships with clients, making efforts to break down barriers with those unable and/or reluctant to access support.
- Contribute to the assessment of all Service Users' needs through regular monitoring of general wellbeing e.g. mood, behaviour, general appearance, personal care standards, state of accommodation.
- Support service users to gain and maintain a tenancy and meet occupancy obligations
- To encourage client participation in training, education, and social activities
- Ensure that the accommodation is a safe environment for clients, that risk assessments are regularly practiced and recorded and that maintenance issues are reported.
- Establish and measure service outcomes and report outcomes to the manager.
- Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely completion and filing of all relevant paper and computerised Service User documentation.
- To complete all relevant reporting requirements to funders
- To ensure that project vacancies are promptly let in accordance with laid down procedures and to minimise and monitor voids.
- Effectively communicate within and between teams
- Carry out welfare and fire and health & safety checks of all accommodations at regular intervals.
- Ability to manage self, organise workload and work calmly under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
- Ability to contribute to and implement all LCA policies and procedures.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties

**Essential Criteria**:

- Have a relevant qualification in the care field i.e. NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline
