Physiotherapy Assistant

Cinderford, United Kingdom Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting new opportunity has arisen as part of the Forest Community Physiotherapy Team. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Physiotherapy Assistant to complement our existing team; delivering community rehabilitation within the Forest of Dean locality Integrated Community Team (ICT).

If you have experience of working with people in a health or care capacity and are motivated and dedicated to supporting people in the community to achieve their goals, maximise their independence and live well at home then we would like to hear from you.

The ability to travel, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for this role.

The ICTs consist of nursing, therapy and reablement staff along with administrators. We work closely with GPs, the community hospitals and other partners to enable people to live as independently as possible at home. The ethos of the team is a rehabilitative and person-centred approach to recovery and self-management; ensuring we offer care close to home and avoid unnecessary admissions to bed based services.

Our ICT base in Cinderford is looking for a Physiotherapy Assistant who can work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). You will carry out work delegated by the Physiotherapists and collaborate with the whole MDT to provide a seamless approach to the delivery of services. This may be within the patients’ own homes. All of our ICT staff are equipped for mobile working to include use of a laptop and smart phone.

At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it. This is the same approach we take for our employees. We look to value the skills and experiences of those we work with, whether they are service users, carers, families or those looking to work with us.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. We treat NHS patients according to NHS principles and standards. The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.

The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
